Garnets are a group of silicate minerals that have been used since the Bronze Age as gemstones and abrasives. All species of garnets possess similar physical properties and crystal forms, but differ in chemical composition. Their name originates from the Latin word for "pomegranate" due to their usual dark red coloring.

Tumbled stones are pieces of rock and different minerals that have been tumbled to produce smooth rounded and highly polished stones. The process begins by placing rough stones of a similar size into a rock tumbler. The barrel is then filled with water, sand, coarse grit and various polishing agents to create a smooth surface on the polished gemstone.

These stones are sold individually and in 1LB bags with the options of our medium stones measuring approximately 3/4" and our large stones that measure approximately 1".
