Tumbled stones are pieces of rock and different minerals that have been tumbled to produce smooth rounded and highly polished stones. The process begins by placing rough stones of a similar size into a rock tumbler. The barrel is then filled with water, sand, coarse grit and various polishing agents to create a smooth surface on the polished gemstone.

Tumbled stones can be used in many ways - lucky stones, vase filler, decorations, ground cover, accents in potted plants, game markers, making jewelry and much more

Tourmalated Quartz or Tourmalined Quartz is a clear quartz which has crystals of black tourmaline running through it. Quartz is the best-known piezoelectric gem--it can carry an electrical charge when exposed to an applied voltage, in response to pressure or in response to mechanical stressors. Quartz is also a pyroelectric gem--able to generate an electric charge through rapid states of temperature change. These are the scientific qualities behind reliable and accurate quartz movements in watches. The same properties mean it is ideal for use in microphones, speakers, filters and sonar.

This product is sold in 1 LB bags and available in two stone sizes; Medium Tumbled Stone measuring approximately 3/4" and Large Tumbled Stone measuring approximately 1".
