Milky green in color, the Emerald is the sacred stone of the goddess Venus. Thought to preserve love, an Emerald has long been a symbol of hope, love and romance.

First known emerald mines were in Egypt dating back to 330 B.C. The Incas have been using Emeralds since around 1100 A.D. in ceremonies and rituals.

Emerald is a specific type of green beryl colored by vanadium and chrome. Unlike many other gemstones, it is prized for its inclusions or "garden" within the gemstone.
